8:00 AM - 9:30 AM
Center / Architecture + Design, 1218 Arch Street
Architect Seth A. Shapiro, principal and director of Urban Design at BartonPartners, and project owner and sponsor Jeffery Kozero from K4 Associates, LLC Philadelphia will present plans for Liberty on the River, a mixed-use proposal for the Delaware River waterfront, located between Washington Avenue and Reed streets in South Philadelphia. The project, one of the largest ever proposed for the city, includes over 2,000 residential units, a full-service hotel, approximately 60,000 square feet of ground-level retail uses, and public open spaces and linkages to the waterfront, as well as what could be connections to future public transportation along Columbus Boulevard. The Liberty on the River team will explain how this project is consistent with, and where it deviates from, the Master Plan for the Central Delaware Waterfront and the governing Central Delaware Overlay Zoning Ordinance. Kozero will also discuss K4’s conveyance of 8+ acres to the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation for a permanent waterfront trail and the relationship between Local 19 (Sheet Metal Workers Local 19) and the project site.
