Center / Architecture + Design, 1218 Arch Street

What

Chinatown is a historic Philadelphia community which also happens to be a regional anchor of Asian culture, commerce and living. We will look back on the complexities and challenges that have faced Chinatown during its transformation these past 50 years, and explore issues such as community identity, a diversifying population, sustaining leadership, equitable development and many others. We will challenge the doomsday view of Chinatown's future and discuss, in turn, the fragility and strength of this immigrant community.
