Join Betsy Stoel (Rogers Architects), Nancy Rogo Trainer (Drexel University), and Pete Cramer (Wexford Science + Technology) to hear about a creative but complicated public private partnership ten years in the making. Just completed, the building for the Powel Elementary and Science Leadership Academy Middle Schools (P/SLA-MS) -- an 87,000 square foot modern education facility -- is the result of a partnership between Drexel University and the School District of Philadelphia. The project, located at the seam between existing residential neighborhoods and the new uCity Square commercial district, offers opportunities to include students and their families as participants in this innovation community, physically and programmatically knitting K- 8 public education into a fabric that includes higher education, research, industry, and the broader community.
