Dear Mr. DiCicco and other members of the ZBA:

The Design Advocacy Group (DAG) urges you to approve the variances requested by Shimi Zakin of Atrium Design Group in order to build an apartment building on top of the Painted Bride Art Center building at 230 Vine Street.

The proposed building was presented at DAG’s March 11 meeting (held virtually). We were impressed by the intelligence of the design, and we applaud the preservation of Isaiah Zagar’s remarkable art.

This letter is approved by the Steering Committee of the Design Advocacy Group, a 1700- member organization dedicated to excellence and equity in the built environment of Greater Philadelphia. (https://designadvocacy.org/)

Sincerely,

David B. Brownlee, FSAH
